What is houston oilers 1991?

The Houston Oilers were an American football team based in Houston, Texas. In 1991, the Oilers were led by quarterback Warren Moon and finished the regular season with an 11-5 record. They won the AFC Central division and advanced to the playoffs as the third seed in the AFC.

In the first round of the playoffs, the Oilers hosted the New York Jets in a game that would later become known as the "Monday Night Miracle." The Oilers jumped out to a 35-3 lead in the third quarter, but the Jets mounted an incredible comeback to win the game 42-35. The loss remains one of the biggest collapses in NFL playoff history.

Despite the disappointment of the playoff loss, the 1991 Oilers were a talented and entertaining team. Moon threw for over 4,600 yards and 33 touchdowns, while running back Lorenzo White rushed for over 1,200 yards and nine touchdowns. Future Hall of Fame wide receiver, Jerry Rice, also played for the Oilers that season, although he only played in two games due to injury.

The Oilers franchise would move to Tennessee and become the Titans in 1997.
